Accountable

What an exciting time of year! This marks my very first Christmas as a wife to my best friend. The excitement of this holiday is so amazing. The first time I really have been this excited for any holiday including my ultimate favorite which is Halloween. That's saying a lot since I'm one of those who starts counting down to the next Halloween on November 1st.

This excitement led me to a realization about my husband and me. I would like to have many more holidays together. The only way we will is by both of us getting healthy. We have gain a bit this year especially after we moved in together. We both have medical concerns that would be in much better condition as we lose weight and become more active in our lives.

My biggest concern for myself is getting my diabetes under control. I was diagnosed with it nearly 14 years now. I go up and down with my weight. I get it under control and then fall off the wagon. I lost my health insurance when I left a job back in December 2015 and so I wasn't on medication to keep it in check. Also I wasn't eating right. I thought if I didn't check on it, that I'll be fine. WRONG! Never do that!! Ignoring a problem doesn't make it go away. It can make it worse. This is why I'm determined to get healthy. I don't like this disease. It makes you feel bad often. You aren't the person that you want to be feeling sick a lot.

My other big concern is the weight gain. I know that can't be healthy for the heart and the body to handle.

I have to get working on this like there is no tomorrow.

I've decided that I must make myself accountable for my health. I will post my weight every Monday and my body measurement once a month. A small step at a time is all that it takes to becoming the healthy person I know I can be.

1st Measurements & Weight:

WEIGHT -- 278 pounds
NECK -- 17"
BICEP -- 12"
FOREARM -- 8.5"
CHEST -- 51"
WAIST -- 47.5"
HIPS -- 56"
THIGH -- 22.5"
CALF -- 13.5"

My sister-in-law inspired me to start blogging again after my last post about 4 years ago. I really appreciate all that she does. She's also working hard on getting healthy. She's an amazing woman!
